Originally from Malden, Massachusetts, a suburb just 5 miles north of Boston, I moved to Phoenix AZ at the age of 17 to care for my ill father. Several years later when my father passed, it was obvious that Arizona was my permanent home. I had worked in the car business for 15 years, primarily in Financing, all the while investing in real estate. I purchased my very first home in 1988. It was 4-plex. We lived in one unit and rented the other three. With a name like Acres, I knew I was destined to be in real estate somehow. My wife became a real estate agent working for Century21 and I got into mortgage lending.
